Welcome and thank you for your interest in The Museum of the San Ramon Valley’s sixth annual “Back to School Under the Stars” gala.

This year, we are happy to commemorate the class of 1946 which was the last class to attend the Tassajara Grammar School. It is important that we have the memories of the students who attended the school.  Our living history program for third graders, here, at the school has just completed a happy and educational January to June introducing Valley students to what a school day was like in the 19th century.

The museum entered 2023 by revisiting the pandemic in a unique way. “Stir Crazy Quilts: Quilting During the Pandemic” allowed us to show that creativity and artistic expression does not stop due to a virus. The quilts that we exhibited reminded us that even in dark days the human spirit comes through.

We are currently running our very popular model train exhibit for the summer. This is a long-standing tradition at the museum and is eagerly awaited each summer.

Our popular monthly virtual speaker series is continuing to draw audiences. The museum Keeps on its mission to collect and preserve historically important parts of Valley history. We are moving ahead planning new, educational, and fun exhibits for this year and next.

As I mentioned last year, the heart and soul of any not-for-profit organization are the people that make up and support it. In our case, we have the support of generous sponsors and donors, loyal members, and dedicated, talented, and hardworking volunteers and staff. We are very fortunate to have so many people that help the museum fulfill our mission to educate, collect, and bring interesting and informative exhibits and programs to the Valley and beyond.

Thank you for your support and I hope to see you at the event.
